Stanley “Wade” Braswell, 73 of Jacksonville, born January 28, 1940, died Monday, December 9, 2013. He was the son of the late William “Woody” Braswell and Marie D. Braswell. Wade was a graduate of Jacksonville Technical High School excelling in electronics. He was a HAM radio operator (K4VXD) from the age of 15 and joined the U.S. Coast Guard to proudly participate in the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner from the late 80’s. He worked at Sears Service Center for 25 years, Channel 7 TV Station for 13 years, and NAS Department of Defense for 25 years. Wade is survived by his wife Etwinda of 54 years; beloved sister Beth (John Roberts); brother, Van Beverstock (Maria); two sons David (Janice) and Michael (Cary); three grandchildren Jadie Braswell, Sean Braswell, and Myla Braswell; sister-in-law Carol Boisvert and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org, or American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, where a public visitation will be held, Saturday December 14, 2013 at 9:00 am; Funeral Service at 10:00 am and interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
