On May 1st, 1945, God sent to this earth in Porterdale, Georgia, His son Tyrus Cobb Wood, Jr. As a young man, Ty made a deeper commitment to the Lord with his life and with his service to the kingdom. He was determined to follow the direction of God so that he may be used as a vessel in his life. The devote commitment and his many gifts resulted in him working with the Florida Baptist Convention for many years providing support and direction for the Media Ministry. He was a talented writer and producer, and when behind the camera his work always told a story. He also was the proprietor of TyrusWoodJr.com, specializing in script writing, media productions and corporate storytelling. During his career, he received more than 100 video production awards. As a communicator, he was a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Baptist Communicators Association. He then in 2011 retired from Director of Media services from his church and association both locally and nationally. Ty's commitment and service was not only to God but as well to his country. Ty served as a sergeant in the US Army, and he was proud of his service with the army. He spent some time serving in Germany and as well in Vietnam with BlackCat Chinook helicopter support team. Following his military retirement Ty became a life member of the Army Aviation Association of America and a lifetime member of the US Army Museum Foundation. He is survived by his loving wife, Roblyn, of 46 years, brother-in-law Sam Satterfield, nephew Ben Satterfield, and niece Olivia Blackwell (Dillion) and great-nephew Wilson, brothers-in-law Bobby Moran & Stephen Moran, sisters-in-law Helen Ballard (Phil), Kathy Page (Jerry), Bonnie Sorrels (Tim), & Molly Moran, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
