Sou Mei Conklin, also known as Grandma, peacefully passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 87 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on October 26, 1936, in Chung Li, Taiwan, to her late father Tseng Ting Ping and her late mother Tseng Fung Chu Yeh.
Sou Mei was the eldest of eight brothers and sisters and was known for her beauty, charisma, intelligence, kindness, and joyfulness. She had a talent for storytelling and brought smiles to the faces of those around her. Sou Mei took great pleasure in preparing traditional Asian foods, sharing her culinary skills and cultural heritage with her loved ones.
She is survived by her sister Mei-Chi “Tina” McKeithan of Colorado Springs, CO, along with her daughter Kei-Chi McKeithan of New York. Sou Mei is also survived by her brother Tseng Lung Chun of Chung Li, Taiwan. She leaves behind two daughters, Keichi Hartley and Lisa Ullery, as well as five grandchildren: Brian Leonard, Miles McCloud, Erin Conklin, Aidan Conklin, and Alyssa Duzick with spouse Tyler Duzick. Sou Mei's legacy continues through her three great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Jolene, and Jameson Duzick.
In addition to her parents, Sou Mei was preceded in death by her son Timothy Conklin, her former husband Wade B. Conklin, and her beloved companion Edward F. Brennan whom she loved traveling the world with.
A visitation to honor Sou Mei's life will be held on February 10, 2024, from 2-4 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. The caring and professional staff at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home will be assisting the family during this time.
Sou Mei Conklin will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will forever be cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
