Chief, Romeo Codero Arimbuyutan U.S Navy (retired) of Jacksonville, Florida a Vietnam Veteran Passed away at the age of 75 on Tuesday, September 26, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Affectionately known to many as Romey was born on the 21st of February in the year 1947 in Manila Philippines. Shortly after graduating high school he joined the U.S Navy. During his time in the military he met and married Elena who stood with him through it all. After retiring from the armed forces Romeo began a second career working as an aircraft mechanic at NAS (Naval Air Station). He devoted a total of 52 years serving his country.
Romeo was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a loyal member of The Knights of Columbus. He was a dedicated friend, co-worker, and mentor to many. He never hesitated to show generosity to whom ever needed it. Romeo leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 48 years Elena Arimbuyutan, son Romeo Arimbuyutan Sr., daughter-in-law Alice Hartsfield, grandson whom he loved dearly Romel Arimbuyutan Jr. step-granddaughter Tiyunna Carlton, and step-grandson Maurice Thomas, and a host of relatives
A Rosary will be held at 6:30 in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Marion Center on September 23rd, 2022. Both Funeral services and viewing will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 11757 Old St. Augustine Rd. Jacksonville, Florida 32223. Saturday, September 24th, 2022. For all those wishing to attend the viewing will start at 9:00a.m followed by the Funeral services beginning at 10:00a.m. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, 11757 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
