Robert Allen Rubens

Passed away peacefully with his family on 02/09/2023. Born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada he moved to Jacksonville where he worked 25 years for the City of Jacksonville as a Code Enforcement Officer and 10 years with the Jacksonville Police Reserve as a Lieutenant. He survived by his loving wife of 61 years Linda Rubens, two sons Scott (Mary) Rubens of Chantilly, VA, Mark Rubens, granddaughters Kaitlyn and Laurel Rubens. He is proceeded his brother Murray. Other surviving members include his sister-in-law Myrna Rubens (Plantation, FL), Brothers George (Ellen) Rubens, Arthur (Becky) Rubens (Naples, FL)and sister Debbie (Mel) Gottlieb and brother in law Steve (Adrienne) Slutzah (Northridge, CA). He is also. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Aaron Gottlieb, Larry Leffler, Bill Vigdor, Josh Rubens, Michael Rudowitz, Taylor Rudowitz, Denny Banta, Ron Rubens, and Richard Farrell. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mr. Rubens’ memory to the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School at the Jacksonville Jewish Center or to Community Hospice & Palliative Care.

A graveside service for Robert will be held Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 12:30 PM at The Beth Shalom Section of Evergreen Cemetery, Gate 5, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
