ROBERT CHARLES POTTER, son of Harold and Viola Heiser Potter passed away March 23, 2019. He was born in Buffalo, NY on June 1, 1930. Robert loved photography, music, sailing, running, and cycling. He was a listener and stated you never lean anything talking.
He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. He assisted his father in his photography business lab developing negatives and printing photos.
Robert graduated from LeTourneau University with a degree in Welding Engineering. Robert was a navy veteran. As a member of the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church Council in Montville, NJ Robert helped design and manage the building of the church. He was elected and served as a board member of the Montville Township Public Schools Board of Education.
Robert worked 30 years for Bethlehem Steel Buffalo Tank division at the NJ, MD, and FL locations.
Robert is survived by wife Joan, son Scott (Laurie) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, daughter Barbara Marks (Gregory) of Leesburg, VA, sister Ruth, grandchildren (Gregory Marks (Courtney), Matthew, Alaina Marks, and Kevin) and great-grandchild (Madison Marks). He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert.
Memorial service is Saturday, March 30, 2019, 2:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 South Edgewood Ave. Reception following the service.
