On Sunday afternoon at 5pm, Rhonda passed away at home surrounded by her close family, from a long battle with cancer. Rhonda was 56 years old. Rhonda Bateh was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL on September 13, 1958. She was the first daughter of Ramzi Abraham and Salwa Bateh. After completing high school, Rhonda completed her Registered Nurse degree from Florida Community College at Jacksonville. She went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of North Florida. She worked for both Jacksonville General Hospital and Memorial Hospital specializing in critical care. On February 29, 1992, she married Noel George Ridsdale, her husband of 23 1/2 years. The couple had one son, Jared Noel, born on March 17, 1995. The family has resided most of the married years here in Jacksonville. Rhonda was a caring individual where family was the most important value to her. She was always caring about family members, whether they were sick or healthy, she always asked about them and celebrated their life events. Her family and friends were paramount to her, and even in her last days she was concerned about how they were doing. Rhonda is survived by her husband, Noel, their son, Jared, her parents, Ramzi A. and Salwa Bateh, her 2 sisters, Sandra Bateh and Gloria Baez (husband, William), her brothers, Charles and George R. Bateh (wife, Abeer), mother-in-law Marjorie A. Ridsdale and brothers-in-law Michael (wife, Gwen), Chris MacGregor. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Ramzi G., Leila, Christian, Hannah, Elias, Brittany, and Steven. She also survived by an extensive extended family as well. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, at 6pm at the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with Very Rev. Archpriest Kamal Al-Rahil officiating located at 6300 Bowden Road, Jacksonville. The funeral will be on Thursday, August 6, at 10am at the same location. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery on Beach Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Dreams Come True of Jacksonville, as this is a cause that created much happiness for the family.
