Ralph C. “Mac” McConnaha, age 95, passed away on March 28, 2017 at his residence in Keystone Heights, FL. He was born on January 4, 1922 in Muscatine, IA to Clarence and Nellie McConnaha. He moved to the Jacksonville area when he was in the Navy at age 19 the spent most of his life here.
Prior to retirement he was a Supervisor with NAS JAX NARF for 43 years. He was an avid camper and traveled extensively with his late wife Dorothy.
He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII and Korea.
He was a member of the St. Nicholas Park Christian Church in Jacksonville, FL.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy E. McConnaha.
He is survived by two daughters, Anita Mae Strother of Brandon, FL and Judy A. Kelley of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Michelle Strother Green (Lawrence) , Brian T. Kelley, Todd B. Kelley (Tara) and three great-grandchildren, Brannen Kelley (Saraley), Leah Kelley, and Jaxon Kelley. He also leaves several loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday April 2, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
A Celebration of Life will be on Monday April 3, 2017at 11:00am at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery with Military Honors and a reception following the services.
