She was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville and graduated Bishop Kenny High School. She was a devout Catholic, a devoted mother and grandmother, an avid sports fan who loved her family and the beach.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra House. She is survived by her children, Stephen Shearer (Catherine), Michael Shearer (Julie), Linda Harris (Wayne) and David Shearer (Amy); her grandchildren, Justin, Lindsey, Melanie, Jenna, Christina, Douglas, Peter Ryan, Rachel, Marissa, Kelly, Allison and Brooke; great grandchildren, Hayley, Van, Lucas and Harper; her siblings, Rita, Beverly, Gayle and John and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father James Boddie as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 6 with Vigil Services at 7:00 p.m. at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd.
