Patricia “Pat” L. (Crecca) Orlando, 77, of Jacksonville FL, and formerly of Williston FL, died peacefully Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in Sunrise Senior Living. Her health declined rapidly recently due to a recurrence of cancer.
Born June 3, 1941 in Newark NJ, she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Susan (Nave) Crecca. New Jersey was her home for most of her life until relocating to Williston FL in 1978 with her former husband Ralph Orlando and their four children.
Pat graduated from Clifford J Scott High School in 1959, located in East Orange NJ. After graduation she worked at The Prudential with her father managing office administration. She married her high school sweetheart Ralph Orlando in August 1963. A short while later the Orlando family began to grow and Pat found her true passion, raising her family. Pat was a loving mother and raised three sons and a daughter. Her family and friends were very important to her and she would sacrifice anything for them. Shortly after the move to Florida, Pat started working at Sears Roebuck in the Maintenance Agreements Office. She retired from Sears and went back to her true love of family nurturing and doting over eight grandchildren.
During Pat’s 21+ years in Williston when she wasn’t going to dance recitals, little league games, HS sporting events and other family related activities, she embraced the Williston community. Pat was a very active member of both Williston's Women’s Clubs for many years. In addition, Pat and her family spent many summer days at the Williston Country Club swimming and enjoying friends.
Pat is survived by her four children; sons, Mike and wife Kim; Rob and wife Michelle; Pete and wife Shalane; and daughter Renee (Orlando) Slabicki and husband Jared; brother, Joseph Crecca and wife Cheryl; eight grandchildren, Jordan Orlando, Chelsea (Orlando) Lockyear and husband Mitchell, Matt Orlando, Michael Orlando, Emma Orlando, Logan Orlando, Ava Slabicki, and Allie Slabicki; nephews, cousins, and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
