Juanita (Nita) Rudd Lewis, passed away on November 10, 2020. Nita was born January 29, 1931 in Jacksonville, FL to Albert and Verna Rudd. She was next to youngest of eight brothers and sisters, all deceased. She was surrounded by joy and love of a hard working family, living on a farm in West Jacksonville. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, beloved sister and true friend to all.
Nita graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1949. She was a member of and very involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a very loyal and devoted member all her life.
Nita was preceded in death by her son, David Lewis.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tonya Lewis Friis, Celeste Wilson; husband David; her late son’s wife, Susan Lewis; two grandsons Stephen Johnson and wife Heather and Travis Johnson and wife Rebecca; four great-grandchildren Laila Johnson, Jewel Johnson, Adaliene Johnson and Maddox Johnson; plus many other relatives and friends.
Everyone says what a sweet person she was. She loved helping children and being with her grandsons. She like her plants and yard work, cruises and going to plays. Thank you to Taylor Care for taking care of her.
Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Visitation will be held November 16, 2020 from 1:30 pm – 2:00 pm at the funeral home with a Committal Service following.
