Nick was born on November 25, 1987, in San Diego, California to Tommy Jordan and Brenda Jordan, who were serving in the United States Navy at the time. At the age of 11 months, Nick moved with his family to Pensacola. In 1999, the family permanently moved to Jacksonville.
Nick attended Fletcher Middle and High Schools where he played the trumpet and was a member of the marching band. During those years he developed many of his close friendships that he maintained until his passing. Following high school, Nick attained a bachelor's degree in English education from the University of North Florida, graduating magna cum laude.
Upon graduating from college, Nick began working for Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville. He developed his career as a teacher while working at Sandalwood High School and Kernan Middle School. Nick had a special passion and skill for working with students with autism. In the classroom, Nick was adored by his students and respected by his colleagues. As a teacher, Nick was a great force of calm for those around him. He was a patient and dedicated teacher, imparting daily life lessons on his students with steady leadership, consistent support, and silliness.
Those closest to Nick knew him as dependable, generous, thoughtful, and loving. Nick’s favorite times were spent with family, friends, and nature. Nick enjoyed traveling, hiking, and literature. Nick began dating Reagan Jones, a fellow teacher, and was overjoyed to discover that he would soon become a father in December of 2023.
Nick is survived by his parents, brothers Daniel and Brandon, sister Sabrina, and Reagan, his partner and love of his life.
