Tom was born April 19, 1943 to Morris Hope Hudson and Martha Watts Hudson in Lynchburg, VA. He graduated from Virginia Tech as a member of the Corps of Cadets and went on to serve as a Captain in the United States Air Force. After the Air Force Tom started his career in the financial industry in 1968 with PaineWebber and worked there until 1990 when he joined Raymond James and Associates, Inc. He served as a Regional Manager, National Sales Manager and Senior Vice President and consultant to the President of Raymond James and Associates, Inc. He loved his work but more importantly he enjoyed mentoring others in the financial industry.
Faith, family, friends, and sports were cornerstones in Tom’s life. Tom was an only child and watching his family grow meant the world to him. His home was always open to anyone, regardless of how long he had known them. He loved having everyone gather in his home and spending quality time together. Tom spent time in community with others through his faith. He loved serving on his church’s board and attending Sunday school. Additionally, Tom loved spending time watching sports with anyone that would be willing to watch with him. Although his family and friends know that he is celebrating in Heaven, Tom will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to Lakewood Church of Jacksonville, 6133 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32217.
