Fouty, Michael (Mike), 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 25, 2023, in Gainesville, Florida. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, but moved to Jacksonville at the age of 10. Mike was the son of the late Robert and Rachael Fouty.
Mike graduated from Fletcher High School in 1969 and from Jacksonville University in 1973. He would go on to retire from the Jacksonville Sheriffs’ Office after 30 years of dedicated service.
Mike was a member of Franklin Street Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, and as the men’s Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the FOP, NARC, and the Blue Knights.
Mike was an avid Florida Gator fan and helped escort the Gator’s football team on FL-GA weekend for over 20 years. He loved traveling with his wife and riding his motorcycle.
Mike was preceded in death by his sister Cheryl Bartell, father and mother-in-law, Bill and Agnes McKee and sister-in-law Bobbie McGraw. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Billie McKee Fouty, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills funeral home located on 850 St. Johns Bluff RD. N.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30am on Friday March 3, at Franklin Street Baptist Church located at 2521 Franklin Street and will be officiated by Pastor and dear friend, Terry Gore and Chaplain Clarence Jarrell.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Franklin Street Baptist Church or to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
