He was born July 18, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa and raised in Spokane, Washington.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lee and Maryanne Dale.
Mick is survived by his wife of nearly 21 years, Jo; three sons: Ryan, Shane and Jeff (deceased), six grandchildren, sister, Connie, brother-in-law, John and brother, Bob Dale, several nieces and nephews, step children; Gary Halton (Rachel), Curtis Halton (Laura) and Casey Hulm (Cody).
Mick was a boy scout, Eagle scout and order of the arrow scout.
He graduated from West Valley High School in Spokane, Washington.
He was in the Air Force for 4 years. He worked on airplanes and was an instructor. In addition, he played drums for the Air Force drum and bugle corps and then moved to Jacksonville, FL 35 years ago.
After the Air Force, Mick retired from Home Depot.
Some of Mick’s favorite things are boating, walking on the beach and seeing the dolphins and feeling the wind and sunshine on his face.
He loved to go to the mountains and visit Pigeon Forge during Christmas time, it was as very special place to him and Jo; and it is where they were married. He loved to grill out for family and friends and was the type of person who would light up a room as soon as he walked in with the smile on his face. He loved to read the Bible daily and he gave his heart to Jesus many years earlier.
He told me, “My bags are packed and I’m ready to go. This is not goodbye, its I’ll be waiting for you my sweet Jo and all of my loved ones.”
A graveside service for Michael will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
