Mary Evelyn Ray, 79, of Jacksonville passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015. Mary was born July 25, 1935 in Hoboken, Georgia to Jeptha and Zettie (O’Quinn) Griffn. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ray, and sons Randy Ray and Eric Ray. She was member of Saint Johns Baptist Church. Mary spent many hours reading, sewing, crocheting, and watching old television shows. She is survived by her loving daughter Beneita Flemmer (Mitch); brothers Avery Griffin and David Griffin (Willene) ; sisters Lucille Herrin and Iris Carpenter; grandchildren Adam Ray, Steven Flemmer (Angel), David Flemmer, Lena Ray, and Rachel Flemmer. Family will receive friends and family 10:00 – 11:00 am, Wednesday January 28, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am in the chapel with Pastor Glen Griner officiating. Interment will follow the services at Riverside Memorial Park.
