Martha Jane Rhodes

Martha Jane Hatchett Rhodes (age 86) passed away March 13, 2021. A native of Nashville, TN born on July 22, 1934. She was the fifth child of the late Arch Alspaugh Hatchett and Louise Smith. Martha was a member of the Class of 1952 Cohn High School and attended Nashville Business College. She was employed by Cumberland Mfg. Co. Nashville and 10 years with Motors Insurance Corp. in Jacksonville and Atlanta. Martha was married to Robert Lang Rhodes on January 29, 1966, he passed away on December 15, 2014.

Her siblings Arch Hatchett Jr., Mary Lou Hunsberger, James Woods Hatchett, Fred Smith Hatchett, and Thomas Henry Hatchett are deceased.

She is survived by Jane Wilkens (Craig) of Las Vegas, Robin Lang Brown (Dudley), and Russell Robert Rhodes both of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Jacob Robert Brown, Rachel Lang Brown, Joshua Thomas Brown, and Lainey Rebecca Waldman; sister-in-law Amelia Hazlewood Hatchett; and dear cousins Jean Stophel and Bettye Crowley. She was a member of Argyle Church of Christ.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Martha will be laid to rest at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, Georgia in the Lang Family section.

She got sand in her shoes.
