Marge Seroky passed away on October 27, 2023, at age 78 in Jacksonville, FL. Born Margaret Marie Wasdyke in Paterson, NJ on August 6, 1945 to Walter J. and Margaret M. (McAteer) Wasdyke, she moved to Tampa, Florida in 1977 and later moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2002 to be closer to her family.
Though she came from humble beginnings, Marge flourished into a remarkable woman. After building an impressive career in accounting and finance, Marge retired as a Controller at Connelly & Wicker Inc., a Jacksonville-based engineering firm. She had a passion for giving and volunteered her time, energy, and accounting acumen to many non-profits in her lifetime including Suncoast Epilepsy in Clearwater, FL and the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville.
Even more so than her professional accomplishments, Marge was a beautifully positive person who will continue to be cherished by all those who were fortunate enough to be loved by her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Wasdyke, her two sisters, Mary Ellen Saczawa and Monica Morano, and her granddaughter, Makena Cain. Marge valued family above all and sparked a legacy that will leave a lasting impact for generations to come. Surviving her is her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald J. Seroky, her three children, Cheriann Cain (Rusty), Donna Vossman (Rick), and John J. Seroky (Nicole), six grandchildren, Derek Seroky, Andrew Gordon, Amanda Keels, Tori Vossman, Katie Vossman, Makaila Cain and five great-grandchildren.
Marge’s family and friends will continue to feel her presence in many ways and invite you to join them in cherishing Marge in the following moments:
When the smell of coffee beans is released after opening a new can
When you watch a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie
When a belly laugh is so powerful it causes happy tears
When you are cozy with a warm blanket and a good book
When the first few notes of Mamma Mia play proudly from speakers
When you visit the beach, and the smell of the salty water tickles your nose
Marge lived intentionally, making everyone she interacted with feel special. She took time to get to know each person for their uniqueness and found ways to make them feel individually important. In the light of her kind heart, we ask that you keep Marge’s spirit alive by intentionally caring for one another with a sweetness only mirrored by Marge’s life.
