Manuel was born on February 4, 1941, in Madrid, Spain, to Emilia Palomo de Diego and Teodosio Garcia Pinilla and one brother, Pepe Garcia Palomo. He was a self-made man who sought a better life in the United States. He had some schooling in Spain, but his knowledge stemmed from his need to create through working with his hands. He moved to the United States in 1979 where he met his wife, Yolanda Patrizi, at the Flamingo Nightclub in Miami, Florida. They were married in 1980, in the courthouse in Miami, after which he immediately embraced the role of father for Yolanda’s two children. He was known for his dedication and love for his family, something he never wavered from his entire life, even caring for Yolanda in their old age. For many years he owned his own business, providing tile installation, bathroom remodeling, and handyman work. He was beloved by his customers and even taught his grandsons the trade and demonstrated the value of hard work.
He is predeceased by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Patrizi, 91, his brother Pepe, and nephew Fernando, his children: Carla Hetzel (Alan) and Jimmy Patrizi (Kate), his grandchildren: Alexander Hetzel (Nicole), Andrew Hetzel (Sara), Anthony Hetzel, Jaime and Pietra Patrizi, and his great-grandchildren: Margaret, Sophia, Kallen, Bartholomew, and Lorelai Hetzel.
Funeral services will be held at San Juan del Rio Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on December 7, 2024.
