On March 24, 2018 at 3:24p.m., God called our beloved mother, Lula Mae Carter to His side. She was born in Lake Butler, Florida on March 24, 1920. She had a fantastic life and lived it to the fullest. Lula Mae was a wonderful wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Lula Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Lee Carter, Jacksonville Florida; her mother, Nancy Elizabeth Griffis, Jacksonville Florida; her daughter, Nancy Carol Smith, Green Cove Springs, Florida; her son, R.C. Lightbourne, Chauncey, Georgia; grandson Marvin Donald Jones,Jr., Acworth, Georgia; granddaughters Deborah Louise Hinson and Sheila Sue Hinson both of Green Cove Springs, Florida; and son-in- law Myron Lee Rodeillat of Jacksonville, Florida.
She is survived by her children Marvin Donald Jones (Peggy) of Woodstock, Georgia, Carl Cecil Anderson, Panama Canal Zone, Irene Marie Schulz, Folkston, Georgia; Julia Elizabeth Rodeillat, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Lyle Sheldon Carter (Darcy), Jacksonville, Florida. She is also survived by multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
