On July 15, 2024, Lois Kogge Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida passed away at the age of 80 years. She was a genuine friend and a lighthouse, who departed from this world leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Lois walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with radiant joy, her smile and laughter that only comes from living a life with God.
She was a graduate of Terry Parker High School in 1962. She was a master cosmetologist in her younger years. She spent the majority of her career at the State of Florida's CMS (Children’s Medical Services), assisting children with special needs in receiving the medical care they required. She belonged to the Eastern Star of Arlington and Daughters of The Nile Jacksonville as a member of the Family of Freemasonry. As the President of the Women's Ministry at her church, Lois organized numerous fund-raisers. Lois also instructed the children's Cherub Choir. She enjoyed organizing family vacations, creating floral arrangements, and spending time with her grandkids in her free time.
She was preceded in death by Clifford Kogge (father), Fay Kogge (mother), and Kenneth Kogge (brother). She is survived by her husband Edwin Taylor, sons Troy (Nicole) Taylor, Michael (Deena) Taylor, and Richard (Nina) Taylor, as well as her grandchildren Lauren (Tristan) Blankenship, Charles (Nikki) Taylor, Peter (Catherine) Taylor, Cody Taylor, Alexander Taylor, and great-grandson Hadrian Blankenship, are the ones who will carry on her legacy. She also leaves behind sisters Barbara Williams and Betty Booth, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Lois's legacy will serve as a cornerstone of faith. She made it very clear to everyone she touched that sharing Christianity was her greatest life goal.
A visitation for Lois will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A funeral service will follow Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at External Service Location, 850 St Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
