Larry Kay Washburn

He was preceded in death by his parents William Burl Washburn and Mary Hester Washburn, brother Gary Washburn, twin brother Ray Washburn, sister-in-law Sandi Washburn, sister Anunda Stearns, sister-in-law Charlene McGuire and beloved son Gary (Gator) Washburn.

He is survived by Sue, his wife of 58 years, his children Darrin and Tina Washburn, Christy and Troy Trawick, Holly and Carlos Arguelles, sister-in-law Brenda Washburn, and brother-in-law Gerald Stearns, grandchildren (“My life and loved them with all my heart”) Mckenzy, Anzley, Aidan, and Landon, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Larry served 20 years in the US Navy as a Chief Hospital Corpsman, followed by 26 years Civil Service at Naval Air Station Jacksonville Safety Department.

Larry was a member of Destination Church since 1977. He was a “Believer and biggest accomplishment in life is my family”. He was an avid fan of FSU and Jaguars football teams. Larry enjoyed Sci-Fi movies and the Hallmark channel.

A visitation for Larry will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Destination Church, 88 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 88 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211. A committal service will occur Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
