Joseph Cleve Brinson, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 2, 2018. He was born in Miami, Florida to the late Cleve and Claree Brinson. He moved to Jacksonville at four years of age and graduated from Paxon High School in 1960. Joe served in the Air Force from 1961-1964 spending two of those years overseas in Japan. He spent his entire career in the trucking industry working for Ryder, P.I.E. and Landstar from 1965 to 2005. Joe loved coaching Little League and church softball as well as playing softball. He also loved gardening, taking walks and riding his bike around the neighborhood. He attended West Park Baptist church where he faithfully served as a Deacon. Joe loved the Lord and his family dearly.
Joe was also predeceased by his sister and brother in law, Patsy and Roy Thomas.
Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cleo Cape Brinson, daughter, Susan Kelley (Len) son, Michael (Laurie), grandchildren, Kayla Hancock (Aaron), Christopher Kelley, Jonathan Lee, Emma Brinson, great grandchildren, Ameila and Olivia Hancock, sister-in-law Cynthia Cape Ryals and several nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8 at West Park Baptist Church; viewing at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. at the church following the Graveside Service at Riverside Memorial Park at 12 p.m.
