Survived by his wife of 37 years, Cindy (Barineau) Traylor, as well as sister- in-laws Joan Alford (Jeff), Gail Traylor and Jill Vanden Heuvel; Nieces Stephanie Traylor (Chris), Melissa McKenna (Chris), Claire Alford-Rose (Justin) and Natalie Thurlow (Rob); Nephew Brian Alford; Grandnephews Colin and Dylan McKenna and Eddie Thurlow; Grandniece Elouise Thurlow; along with a host of other family members and friends.
Born in Schenectady, NY, he was the second son of the late Brigadier General John Pershing and Aline Fay (Mims) Traylor. He was preceded in death by brothers Philip Marshall and Stewart Harrison Traylor.
He graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration Degree and in 1984 at the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Information Systems Degree. After college, Doug was hired and remained at CSX for 30 years until he retired in 2014.
Doug enjoyed retirement and spending time with his one and only. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, son, uncle and friend.
A visitation for John will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery Association d/b/a Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 20, 2024, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207.
