He was a U. S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in the early 1980’s.
He retired from the Federal Federation Authority as an air Traffic Controller Supervisor.
Preceding him in death were his parents Richard Louis and Vera Rosezell Sanders; siblings; Vera, Richard Jr., Homer, David, Tillman, James, and Eugene Sanders.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife Jerusha J. Sanders; 2 sons, Carlton Edward (Taleah) Sanders and Joshua Johnson; 2 daughters, Tobey Renee Sanders and Alyese Melvin; grandchildren, Harper Sanders, Chason Sanders and Kalyese Fields; Special loving niece Sharon Wiggins; also a special loving cousin Jimmie (Shirley) Ellis along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
A special thank you to Bishop Vaughn and Lady Narlene McLaughlin and The Potter’s House International Ministries where John was a faithful member until his health began to decline.
A memorial service for Mr. Sanders will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 3, 2022 at The Potter’s House International Ministries, 5119 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
A committal service with Military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. Family and friends will go in a procession from the church.
Following the committal service there will be a repast at The Potter’s House International Ministries Chapel, 5119 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
