John Jacob Bateh, 59, passed away Feb. 12, 2018. John was born in Jacksonville, FL on August 5, 1958 to Jack and Suad Bateh. He graduated from Englewood High School in 1976 and attended the University of Florida, Class of 1980 with an Accounting Degree, thereafter, acquiring his CPA. He was the former President and active member of the Ramallah Club of Jacksonville, a member of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church and a lifelong Boy Scout and avid Gator fan. He lived an active lifestyle and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family. He was an amazing father, son, husband, brother and uncle, who will all miss him dearly.
John is predeceased by his grandparents, Hanna and Maria Bateh (paternal), Michael and Nijmah Akel (maternal), and his father-in-law, Mansour Dudum. John is survived by his wife Grace Dudum Bateh and two sons Jacob and Andrew, his parents Jack and Suad Bateh, sisters Jackie Bateh Dostie, Nancy M. Bateh, Marian Bateh Morris (Tim), Diane Bateh Richter (Tom), nephew and nieces David, Derek, Nicole, Victoria, Preston, Olivia, Michael and Zachary, and numerous cousins.
All services will be held at the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church at 6300 Bowden Road. Visitation will be held on Thursday at 6:00 -7:00pm with Trisagion service beginning at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am. with The Very Reverend Archpriest Fr. Kamal Al-Rahil and The Reverend Dr. Nicholas G Louh, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Antiochian or St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church.
