Joel graduated from Appling County and joined the United States Navy.
He was married to Patricia Cynthia Butler on September 14, 1985. Joel had a career in trucking/diesel mechanics for Cummins.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, loving father and grandfather. Loved spending time with family and friends. Joel was very determined, a hard working man and took pride in serving his country and was willing to always lend a helping hand.
Joel is survived by his wife: Patricia Butler; children: Pamela Hamilton (Jason), Joel Emmett Butler III, Charles Alexander (Lisa), Jennifer Castaneda (Gerardo) and Janet Butler; grandchildren: Britney and Sarah Hamilton, Cody and Chelsea Alexander, Amber and Antonio Butler; great grandchildren: Antonio and Brian Butler; sister: Maggie Moore
A visitation for Joel will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
