JASON J BELL, 51, of Jacksonville, Florida, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. He was born to Alan Quinn Bell and Margaret Ann Bell in Baltimore, Maryland on December 13, 1964. He had an unwavering faith and a deep relationship with Christ.
Jason grew up in the Holiday Hill and Deerwood neighborhoods, and married the love of his life, Donna (Burk) Bell, in Jacksonville over 27 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Donna; his two children, Andrew J. Bell (26) and Genevieve Bell (24); his parents, Alan Quinn Bell and Margaret Ann Bell; his siblings, Jeffrey Jon Bell, Cheryl Bell (Robert) Thompson, and James Justin (Lisa) Bell.
Jason graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in 1982, and received his BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida in 1986. He had a distinguished career designing diagnostics and radar systems for the Navy. He also operated his own software design company.
Jason had an exceptional mind and many diverse talents. He could fix an old lawn mower or develop complex software. He really enjoyed a lively debate. He was curious about the essence of each thing and idea he encountered. He loved to travel and he was awed by nature, whether it was the stars above or the woods in his own backyard. He valued authenticity and despised any form of pretension.
Most of all, Jason was a devoted husband, father and son, with steadfast loyalty to the many people he loved.
Flowers or memorial donations are welcomed. Jason’s favorite charities are Catholic Relief Services, Metro Kids Konnection, Operation New Hope, and City Rescue Mission.
