He was born in Philadelphia, PA. October 7, 1927, to Allan Langmuir and Bessie Cole Langmuir.
James was a World War II Veteran and served in the US Navy for 22 years. After his retirement from the Navy, he served another 22 years Civil Service at NARFE, NAS Jacksonville. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and was well known in the local golfing community.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Bob, sister, Betty and wife, Mary Jane of 66 years.
James is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Burford (Mark) of Orange Park and Nancy Albertson of Montana. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Ben Burford (fiancée Gina), Allie Menz, Lindsey Albertson, Dana Terzi (John) and Morgan Jaouen (Nick). 2 great-grandchildren, Brady Menz and Juniper Terzi.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Kina, Rosie and Rhonda for the wonderful care and support to him these past few years.
A graveside service for James will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Community Hospice 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, Fl. 32257.
