James Hugh Gray, age 79, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on July 14, 2023. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on September 15m, 1943 to Adolphus C. Gray and Minnie B. Gray. He graduated from Forrest High School, and attended Florida Military School in Deland, FL,during his High School years.
Jimmy was a typesetter for The Florida Times-Union newspaper and after his retirement transported vehicles for Jacksonville dealerships.
Jimmy was a man of many talents. His photography was breathtaking. He photographed many events for his friends, and had an ability to capture scenes that made you laugh or brought tears to your eyes. He was also an avid ancestry researcher, and shared this talent with many who had a like interest. He was gifted with an understanding of electronics, and even as a child, would take electronic items apart to study the way they were made. This led him to becoming a licensed HAM operator, something he enjoyed most of his life.
He was dearly loved by his family and his many friends. His quick wit and gentle smile will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Jim will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Monday, July 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A burial will occur Monday, July 24, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
