James Bernard (Bernie) Badger, 91, passed away surrounded by (Loving Angels) and family on March 13, 2015. James was the last distinguished Flying Cross recipient from WWII. He flew with the Mighty Eighth “Angels over our Shoulders.”
James was preceded in death by Sarah Elizebeth Badger his loving and supportive wife of 68 plus years. She passed on October 16, 2014 next to her Beloved “Bernie.” She was his Beautiful Bride Always. He was also preceded by his Loving Daughter (ARTIST) Carroll J. Grisco on March 2, 2013. He is survived by his brother Eugene (Irma) and their daughters, Emily, Carol, Kelley and Sadie, four amazing and beautiful young women. His only son William (Bill) Bernard Badger (Charlaina) his daughter Rebecca Gibbs, Richard Grisco, Friends for life, granddaughters Dawn Grisco McCullough (Mike), Lori Grisco Melanson (Chris Capone} and Joseph Gibson. Great Grandchildren Justin and Cheyene, nieces Cathy and Marsha and cousins, Una Lee and Margary. His presence is certainly missed. All members of the military, the historic enthusiast that enjoy the historical figures of the Mighty 8th “The Yoxford Boys” his P-51 Mustang “Miss Florida” that wish to honor him are encouraged to attend. The memorial service will be held at Cedar Hills Baptist Church, 4200 Jammes Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210 on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cedar Hills Baptist Church.
