Henry Pervis Cannon III, age 73, of Jacksonville, FL died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cannon was born on September 9, 1943, in Wilmington, DE. the son of the late Henry Pervis Cannon II and the late Charlotte Lee Cannon. Mr. Cannon grew up in Bridgeville, DE and went on to attend the University of Delaware before joining the US Navy.
He was the husband of Corazon Cannon for 29 years.
Mr. Cannon, a Vietnam Veteran honorably served in the US Navy for 27 years. He retired as an MCPO E-9. Upon his retirement from the Navy, he relocated with his family to Jacksonville, FL. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan along with the Alabama Crimson Tide, and Jacksonville Jaguars. He enjoyed spending time with his kids going to soccer games, bowling, and having frequent large family gatherings. He also had love for his dogs that were always a welcome presence in his home. Mr. Cannon was a friend and Uncle to many in the community and will be remembered for his big heart, honest opinion, and open door.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his brother Maurice Cannon of Bridgeville, DE, his sister Katherine Cannon of Lewes, DE, his five children, Henry Cannon IV of Fair Hill, MD, William Cannon of Wilmington, DE, Christopher Cannon of Las Vegas, NV, Elmira Cannon of Jacksonville, FL, and Jeffrey Cannon of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his beloved step-children Myra Faustino of Jacksonville, FL, Jenalyn Faustino of Jacksonville, FL, and Divine Faustino of Jacksonville, FL, his six grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday July 9, 2016 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home.
