Helen J. Taylor

Helen Jeanette Meeks Taylor, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023 at home in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on May 12, 1927 in Pearson, GA to Leon Gray Meeks and Fannie Starling Meeks and was raised in the loving home of Leon and Sarah Morgan Meeks.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Junior Earl Taylor; sisters, Emily and Mable; brothers, Charles Meeks, Eddie Meeks and Leon Gray Meeks, Jr.

Survived by her children, Gail Perry, Kathryn Skinner, Marie Canova, Alex Taylor and Debbie Richardson Taylor; grandchildren, Donovan Skinner, April Billings Skinner and Ava Skinner, Chris Perry and Krissy Barton Perry, Russell Perry, Justin and Brandon Canova, Zach Taylor and Chrissy Morris Taylor, Heather Taylor Moskal and Brent Moskal; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Perry Widrig, Danny Widrig, Chaynee Perry Cooper and Damian Cooper, Chase and Riley Perry, Ravyn and Jesse Skinner, Paytin Taylor, Harper Taylor and Iyla Taylor; great-great-grandchildren, Katee Wilson, Kelsi Wilson, Jackson Wilson, Lily and Klaus Widrig and Violet Perry. Helen’s remaining siblings are sisters, Marion, Leanette, Ann; brothers, Jimmy and George; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her zest for adventure included travel across the United States and Europe. She was always quick with humorous joke and her smile lit every heart and room that she was in. She will be missed as much as she was Dearly Loved.

A visitation for Helen will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:30 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
