Helen Woodard Henry was born in Lawtey, FL, July 31, 1931 to Dempsey & Hazel Bodenhamer Rhoden, & died on March 18, 2018 in Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents & her adoptive parents William & Thelma Woodward & Step-Father Robert E. Wright, her husband Ralph Henry, her sisters Patricia Parker, Delia Richards, Carolyn Caston; & brothers Lawrence (Rocky) Rhoden & Abner (Buddy) Wright & her son Gene Dugger. She is survived by her brother Robert Wright of Winder GA, three sons: Gines (Sparky) & Henry Rodriguez, Ralph & Donna Rodriguez, Jimmy Carrick, Linda & Larry Kattner & Cindy & Deirdre Dugger. She is survived by seventeen Grandchildren, Fifteen Great-Grandchildren, & a host of Nieces & Nephews whom she loved dearly.
Helen was full of life & loved by everyone who knew her. She was extremely gifted with a bright & inquisitive mind. Her sharp wit & engaging sense of humor kept everyone laughing & brightened their day. She had a generous heart & supported several charities including her Church, St. Jude House for Children, the Homeless Kitchen, the Salvation Army & Animal Shelters. She was baptized in the Baptist Church & respected all faiths. She retired from the State of Florida with 26 years & 7 months of recognized service as the Executive Secretary for the Department of Environmental & Water Protection. She attended college & was an avid reader, loving crosswords, puzzles, & music. Helen will be missed by all her family & friends.
A memorial service will be held March 22, 2018 at Celebration Community Church, Ft White, Fl.
