Prior to retirement he worked for JAX Naval Air Station for 39 years. He was a devoted member at the Baymeadows Baptist Church in Jacksonville where he served as a Deacon for over 40 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
He was pre-deceased by his Great-Grandson Michael Johnston. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose Marie Broward. One son, Rev. Garry L. Broward, three daughters, Elaine Geise (Blaine), Cindy Green (Woodie), and Robin Mitchell (Dan) and on sister, Florence Whitaker (Eddie) all of Jacksonville, FL.
Also he leaves five brothers Henry, Deral (Sue), Gerald (Carol), Hayward (Marthe and Donnie (Sarah) Broward, 10 Grandchildren, and 17 Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM at the Baymeadows Baptist Church on Monday March 9. 2015 with a funeral service on Tuesday March 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207
