Hans was born August 8, 1959, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the youngest son of Axel Emil Hansen and Mary Griner Hansen. He was raised in Jacksonville and was a Graduate of Ed White High School, class of 1977. On June 8, 1977, he was in an automobile accident while travelling to Colorado for a hunting trip. As a result of the accident, he was permanently disabled. Hans passed away on July 16, 2021, after a brief illness.
Hans’ disability never kept him from having a smile for those he knew or met, and he found joy in every day. He was kind, generous, had a wonderful sense of humor and most of all, he knew Jesus. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Hans was predeceased by his father, Axel Emil Hansen Jr., his brother John Hansen and his brother-in-law, Robert Pierce. He is survived by his mother, Mary Hansen, sister, Joan Pierce, his brother Randy Hansen (Theresa) his nieces, Michelle Pierce, Kathryn Hurtado de Mendoza (Omar) Lauren Taylor (Aaron) great-nieces and nephews, Karsen (Josh) Aubri (Kyle) Blake, Aliana, Chandler, Annalise, Kennedy, Axel, Arie, and Ellie and a host of cousins.
There will be a graveside service at 3:00 pm. at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Starke United Methodist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
