Graziella G. Pulido (Subirats), 98, daughter of Jose M. Subirats de Quesada and Flora M. Ramirez Sala, both Doctors of Jurisprudence, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by friends and family on Monday July 10, 2017. “Abuelita Chela” was born in Camaguey, Cuba on February 14, 1919, she attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia.
She was the widow of Rene Garcia-Pulido, CEO of Garcia-Pulido e Hijos and Garlido Cigars Inc., worldwide exporters of handmade cigars from both Cuba and Nicaragua. Together they had five boys, Rene, Armando, Eddy, Alex, Jesus, and one girl, Teresita.
“Abuelita Chela” is considered the Matriarch of the Pulido family. She leaves her family with many memories and stories of love, gratitude, resilience, and most importantly humor. She was preceded in death by two of her six children, Armando G. Pulido, Jacksonville, FL and Eddy G. Pulido, widow Maria Elena, Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by sons, Rene G. Pulido and wife Silvia, Titusville, FL, Dr. Alex G. Pulido and wife Stacey, Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Jesus G. Pulido and Diane, Jacksonville, FL, and daughter Teresita P. Diaz, Johnson City, TN. Also, twenty-one grandchildren, and thirty great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be from 5-7:00 P.M. on Friday July 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, Florida. Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday July 15, 2017 at Assumption Catholic Church, 2431 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32207
