I’m writing to tell you that on July 21, 2023, I changed my address to Heaven.
Jacob M. Michael and Bahia Cadoura Michael brought me to Jacksonville, on August 26, 1943.
Richard E. Tison, Sr. and I married on March 2, 1985. He was my best friend, counselor and a God-send to my family.
We enjoyed vacations with my son, Michael Eadeh when he lived in Colorado and also in the Eastern states. We also enjoyed vacationing in the mountains with Richard’s children: Connie Rowe (Craig), Ricky E. Tison, Jr. (Sherry) and Randy S. Tison (Becky).
Richards’s children gave us, six grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren. They called me “Nana” and I loved them all.
I worked in my parents business, Persia Rug Company in San Marco, for many years, then Anthem/BC-BS for 13 years, before retiring. I enjoyed volunteering at Mayo Clinic. I served on the pastoral care committees for many years, then on the Visitation Ministry at Holy Family Catholic Church.
My calling was to visit or call on home-bound or folks in facilities. It always lifted my spirit and warmed my heart. I liked to treat others like I would have liked to be treated.
Remember, you can’t give kindness away, it ALWAYS comes back to you!
I’ll leave you with this verse: 1 Corinthians 13: Love is patient, love is kind, love never fails. So, until we meet again, Love, prayers, hugs and kisses, Gladys.
A visitation for Gladys will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256, followed by a mass of Christian burial from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL. 32256
or a charity of your choice.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.GreenlawnJacksonville.com for the Tison family.
