George Anastassiadis, born on May 15, 1931, in Athens, Greece, passed away peacefully December 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. George was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose life was marked by hard work and commitment to his family.
George spent his early years in Greece, where he developed a strong work ethic and a love for engineering. This passion led him to a successful career at the Jacksonville Shipyards, where he retired after 25 years.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, D. Mary Anastassiadis, with whom he shared many cherished years.
He is survived by his only child, James Anastassiadis, and his daughter-in-law, Stephenie, his four grandchildren: George, James (married to Dominique), Stephen, and Mary Anastassiadis. He cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and sharing stories of his rich heritage.
A service will be held to honor George's memory at St John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10:30, with the burial at Jacksonville Memory Gardens following.
Georgios will be laid to rest in Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073.
