Paul was a runner in high school, earned a running scholarship to Furman University, and graduated from ITT Tech. He joined the United States Air Force, Strategic Air Command and was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps from 1966 to 1974. After the Air Force, he worked with computers, from repairs to programming.
Paul knew the importance of family and good friends and enjoyed making them laugh with funny stories and a good joke. He also liked soft rock, Jazz, wood working, household projects, singing songs on road trips and watching the antics of little kids. His love of music included playing the trombone, bugle and teaching his niece Margaret cords on the guitar so they could play together. He had been a season ticket holder for the Jaguars since the first game and loved tailgating at Jaguars games.
Paul would do anything for friends and family and was always a gentleman.
He is survived by sisters, Nancy Harbig Prosser (Steve) and Patricia Harbig Blajian (Steve); nephews, Gregory, Richard and Matthew Blajian; and nieces Mary and Margaret Blajian.
Preceded in death by parents, George Harbig, Sr. and Alice Thomas Harbig.

A funeral service will occur Friday, May 5, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 5, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
