Florida, passed away peacefully at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer on June 22, 2022 at
the age of 78.
Frank is predeceased in death by his parents Francis T. and Marie (Markey) Kane Lawrence, MA and his wife Jean (Harris) of Billerica, MA.
Frank was born in Methuen, MA and was raised in Lawrence, MA. He graduated from Central Catholic
High School and then from Burdett College in Boston; as well as Northeastern University Boston. Frank
served on Active Duty in the Army then in the Naval Reserves retiring as a Lieutenant Commander.
Frank had a long career at Raytheon Service Company in Burlington MA, including many years in the
Marshall Islands, South Pacific. After retiring from Raytheon, he continued working at Johnson Controls
in Florida for many years, ultimately retiring as the Human Resources Manager at IAP Hill in Jacksonville.
Frank was a lifelong member of the VFW, American Legion and faithful member of St Joseph’s Catholic
Church in Jacksonville FL.
Frank leaves behind his devoted wife Sonja Donald, of Jacksonville, Fl, daughter Cynthia Ravanis (Peter)
of Burlington MA, son David Kane (Diana) of Auburn NH, son Sean Kane (Michelle) of Burlington MA,
daughter Cynthia Groom (Timothy) of Peterborough, NH, son Daniel Kane (Heather) of Jacksonville, FL.
His 13 grandchildren: Peter, Kelsey, Ryan, Jason, Lauren, Thomas, Matthew, Kayla, TJ, Loclyn, Irelynn,
Liam & Flynn; step-daughters Heather Park & Kiki Pritchard (Scott) and step-Granddaughters Katie, Abby,
Lily, Madison, Emily, and McKenzie. Frank is also survived by many cousins & dear friends including Phil Jerome of Methuen MA and Richard Markey of Medford MA.
Frank was an avid golfer and enjoyed nothing more than sitting by the pool or at the beach with a good
book. Frank was a fierce family man. He never held back on how proud he was of his family and always
offered advice to guide them in the right direction. His love of life, family, and friends will live on through
all that were blessed to know him. He will be missed and loved endlessly.
Family & friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday July
15 at Jacksonville Florida from 4-6pm.
A full Military burial will be held at the Fort Devens National Cemetery, Fort Devens MA on July 22 at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
