Born February 10, 1945, in Schenectady, NY, Betty received her associate’s degree from Broward Community College, and raised her two children, Korina and Stephen, in Sunrise, FL. While in Sunrise, she managed Rourke Pool, and delighted in teaching swim lessons and coaching swim teams. After her children were grown, Betty became an executive housekeeper for luxury hotels in Atlanta, Houston and Jacksonville. During her time in hospitality service, she had the opportunity to meet many notable figures, and regaled family and friends with stories from her work.
Betty’s creativity was frequently on display through her craftwork, including painting and crocheting, and she was a member of the Ivy Cottage Craft Guild, where she enjoyed fellowship and providing hand-made items for various local charities. She was also an avid gardener, who found joy in watching her plants grow. She relished playing games and completing puzzles with her grandchildren.
Betty, above all else, loved her family, including her two pets Belle and Daisy Mae, and instilled in them her strength, kindness and playful spirit.
Betty is preceded in passing by her parents Clayton L. and Jeannette Y. Wolf, née Marion, and brother, Clayton L. Wolf, Jr.
She is survived by her two children, Korina Barber (Roger) and Stephen Sharp (Melissa), four grandchildren: Austin Sharp, Casey Sharp, Stephanie Sharp and Norah Sharp, sister, Verna Bink, cat Belle and dog Daisy Mae, and numerous grandpets.
Services will be held at a later date.
