Dixie was predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Billy Albritton. She is survived by her husband, Henry “Hank” Reynolds Ford, III; her daughters, Debbie Heafner (Don) and June Wirtz (Allan); brother, Randy Albritton (Jackie); and grandchildren, Chris Ford, Ross Turlington, and Kaylee Wirtz. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Dixie graduated from Landon High School in 1958 where she was a member of the Lionettes, a well-recognized precision, marching, drill team. She enjoyed many hobbies such as offshore fishing, cooking and multiple crafts.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in San Jose Baptist Church, 6140 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, with Rev. Mike Reed and Rev. Terry Gore officiating, followed by interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ford, Ross Turlington, Butch Campbell, Al Chancey, Ted McCormick, and Paul Ford.
Honorary pallbearers are Don Heafner and Allan Wirtz.
In Dixie’s honor, the family requests memorials be made to Community Hospice of NE FL or the Alzheimer’s Association.
