David was born January 03, 1943, in Fernandina Beach, Florida to Thomas and Annie Louise Lee.
David loved being outdoors tending to his garden, repairing a lawn mower, or putting his carpenter skills to use for family and friends.
David worked for The City of Jacksonville as a Crew Foreman. He was known for his kindness to his workers and always cracking a joke or two. His retirement after serving the city for 32 years was well deserved with all those years of hard work.
He surrendered his life to Christ in 2004 and was an active member at New Beginnings Ministries.
He loved his family! He always looked forward to spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends eating oysters or just standing around telling a good story. He would speak of how much he enjoyed those memories being made. He also looked forward to making homemade fudge at Thanksgiving with his grandkids.
David was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Louis, his daughter Diane, sister Faye, brother Ira, and two brother-in-laws Raymond and Russell.
He is survived by his wife Juanita of 59 years, one son; Timmy (Chanan), one son-in-law; Ricky, one brother-in-law; Howard, one sister-in-law Winifred, two sisters; Doris (Glenn), and Myrtle, two brothers; Everette (Maurita), Tommie (Deloris), three grandchildren; Allen (Isabella), Liam, and Elijah, two great-grandchildren; Stetson and Stella, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was a most kind and loving husband, daddy, father-in-law, brother-in- law, grandpa, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL, 32205.
