David E. King

David E. King, 59 of Jacksonville passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2012 surrounded by loved ones. He was born April 3, 1953 to the late Gladys and Clausen King in Dante, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his brother Wayne King. He was a loving husband and will be sadly missed. David was a compassionate man. He loved people and would help in any situation. David served his local community as a registered nurse ensuring tender care for all his patients. He enjoyed walking on the beach, fishing, riding his motorcycle and was a skilled gardener. David enjoyed traveling and was an avid sports fan. He played softball, loved the Tennessee Volunteers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. David will be remembered for his quick wit, kind smile, warm heart, and determined spirit. David is survived by his loving wife Sheree King and his devoted twin brother John King, son Justin King, daughter Alexis Fontain, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11:00 am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mandarin Food Bank 11730 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
