Daniel J. Oglesby

Daniel J. Oglesby, 85, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on November 20, 2022 in Jacksonville, and was born on November 6, 1937 in Jacksonville to his parents, Jesse C. Oglesby and Altie A. Boyd Oglesby.

He served in the US Air Force. On June 22, 1961 he married the love of his life, Faye “Geraldine” Oglesby. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Yale Industrial Trucks. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of Florida. He loved working on forklifts, woodworking and enjoyed watching sports. He was a member of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, David Oglesby, Jerome Oglesby and Royce Oglesby; and one sister, Effie L Oglesby.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Oglesby; four daughters, Janice Warren, Danese Jones and her husband Tim, Laurie Kettrey and her husband Scott, and Vickie Oglesby; one sister, Altie Mattox; 14 Grandchildren; 16 Great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, 32205 beginning at 1pm and going to service time at 2pm on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park at 3pm.
