Daniel Walker Carter, Jr., age 87, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on December 22, 2022. Daniel was born In Jacksonville, FL on August 23, 1935 to Daniel Walker Carter, Sr. and Agnes Price Carter. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Jacksonville University. He spent some time in the US Army and married Nadine Cater on December 22, 2017.
Daniel retired from JEA with 33 years of service and after retirement worked 16 years at Home Depot. He loved and played baseball, worked on cars and trucks, built a race car, loved golf and at one time was on a diving team and was a member of a rifle and pistol club. He also loved the Lord, read the Bible and enjoyed discussing the Bible Scriptures with others. Daniel was a Deacon at Franklin Street Baptist Church.
Survived by wife, Nadine Carter; daughter, Melanie Morris; son Duane Carter; step-son, Tommy Austin; step-daughters, Helen Schmechel and Deborah Dobyns; grandson, James Boyle; granddaughter, Jennifer Boyle; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parent, Daniel Walker Carter, Sr. and Agnes Price Carter; and first wife, Shirley Carter.
A committal service for Daniel will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
