Carol Ann Pierson, 73, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 18th, 2020 at the Sunbeam Community Hospice, Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was born July 7, 1946, in Palo Alto, CA to Richard and Anne Maidlow. She married David Thomas Pierson on March 27, 1970 in Arlington, VA.
Carol graduated from Dixie Hollins High School and received her bachelor’s degree from University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She held various positions with the IRS and as well as the White House while living in Arlington, VA and Silver Spring, MD. After moving to Florida and during the last 30 years, she specialized in Commercial Real Estate with most recently working for 20 years at HCA Hospital’s Corporate Real Estate Division as a Senior Asset Manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; sister, Gail Maidlow and her parents. After her husband’s death at a young age, she played the role of mother and father in a time when that wasn’t common. Despite these struggles, she always provided a loving and warm home for her children.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Dani Limbach, Tampa, FL, Kristine (Kevin) Meyer, St. John’s, FL; son, Michael (Miriam) Pierson, Sagamihara, Japan; her step-daughter, Pamela (Andy) Schwarz, Fleming Island, FL; 11 grandsons and 2 granddaughters; and brother, Donald Maidlow, Tampa, FL, along with countless loving cousins and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 25th, 11:00 AM at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church in St. Johns, FL. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at the home of Kevin and Kristine Meyer immediately following the Memorial Mass.
