Brian David DeVolk, age 53, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 9, 2017. Brian was born in Suffolk, Virginia on September 14, 1963 to John DeVolk and Marie M. Miller DeVolk. Brian graduated from University Christian in Jacksonville, Florida.
Brian loved working with his hands and had a career in sheet metal and construction for Thermodyne, Company. Brian also worked for the U.S. Navy in Japan cleaning commercial duct work. He will be missed by all of his coworkers.
Brian was a member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida and had a passion for “living each day to the fullest”. It can be said he enjoyed life and appreciated each day.
Brian is survived by his sons - Gerrit and Corey DeVolk; his father – John DeVolk; his sister – Susan McManus and his brother – Ronald DeVolk.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Brian David DeVolk’s name to the American Cancer Society.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 am until 11:00 am at of Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
