Bobby H. Starkey, 90, of Jacksonville, passed away on Thursday, December 9, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring. He was born on May 2, 1920 in Peoria, IL to the late Hobart Thomas Starkey and Vincie V. (Hazel) Starkey. Bobby served in the United States Air Force from 1941 – 1944. He was stationed in San Marcus, TX where he was a star baseball player. He worked as a Master Mechanic for General Motors for 30 years. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Beatrice Starkey. Additional survivors include his son Bobby Starkey Jr. and his wife Kathy; his grandson, Mark Starkey and his wife Tammy; and his great-granddaughter, Katie Starkey, all of Michigan; and his niece/caregiver, Carol A. Hopson of St. Johns and many nieces and nephews.
